It’s Corona Time

I wish we could go back. Before the pandemic when we were happy and free. It has only been 8 days since we got back from Mexico and things are different. The hardest part of this to swallow is how fast things grow and develop. The US has the most cases of corona in the world, who would have guessed right… The trip was amazing don’t get me wrong but getting back into the US was harder than expected. I miss how simple Mexico was regarding the last two days, it was silent and calm. Wake up, watch the sunrise and go to CoCo cafe was the norm for a week. By our fifth day things became grim. The Resort staff were disappearing by the hour and by our descent only a third of the resort was full. The rules even changed and we were to be served food not able to get it freely, and before dinner you had to use hand sanitizer. They were just taking precautions but things were weird. It was empty and serene, only welcomed by panic. You could just tell something was off, bad vibes type of way. Then came the airport, the worst of it all. People were running covering their faces with anything they could. The scared eyes watch keeping distance from others. It was insane. People were all around, bring it was the day before the US border got closed. Wait pause, isn’t that crazy our border closed. It is starting to hit me, realizing only how bad things can become from here. Anyways, to go anywhere in the airport you had to get scanned and they pulled random people out to interrogate them. Before departure we had to answer a questionnaire about where we have been. It’s unreal but that is life.  Shit happens.

  1. Had a similar experience at Secrets Huatulco! It was eerily empty by the end of the week but airport was madness. I kept it off Facebook that I was even down there. Glad you made it back safe.
